Not to be missed is the National Famine Museum & Strokestown Park, which draws on original documents and images relating to the Great Famine of the 1840s. Is a magnificently restored Georgian mansion located in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Built in 1730 by the King family, the house later became a military barracks for the famous Irish regiment of the British army, the Connaught Rangers.
