The programme for the day will be made up of lectures and site visits and we hope that those who attend will leave with a sense of their heritage and roots.

The day begins at 10am with registration and coffee.

10.30am – Welcome by Pyers O’Conor Nash

followed by lecture on the O’Connors of Connaught  by Dr Kieran O’Conor, NUI Galway

11.30am – Tour of Clonalis House  given by Pyers O’Conor Nash

12.15 – Depart for Ballintubber Castle

12.30 – Tour of Ballintubber Castle given by Dr Nial Brady

Depart for Roscommon town

3.10pm  – Convene in car park of the Abbey Hotel Roscommon for a tour of The Abbey followed by a visit to Roscommon Castle

Talk and lecture of both sites to be given by Dr Kieran O’Conor

6.00pm  – Meeting and chat in Abbey Hotel to be followed by dinner with  music and a closing address by O’Conor Don

We do hope that people will stay for the week end in County Roscommon – to visit all of the other visitor attractions and sample the friendliness and hospitality of the people of Roscommon.

In November 2012 Clonalis House and Estate was used for another photoshoot, this time for Carrig Donn to promote their knitwear for the American market.

Everyone worked very hard for three days and, as it did not rain, there were lots of wonderful outdoor shots. We are really looking forward to seeing the resulting brochure.
