Historic House Tours

From 21st June – 31st August Clonalis House operates Historic House Tours. 

Visitors can book a tour online and view the house and its astonishing trail of history guided by one of our knowledgeable guides from whom you will learn the astonishing history and heritage of one of Ireland’s oldest Gaelic families, descendants of the High Kings of Ireland. Pour over the wonderful collection of art and manuscripts in our museum, chapel, library and manuscript room and discover the family’s and Ireland’s storied history involving the O’Conor clan.

For regular tours we are open from 21st June to 31st August (Monday – Saturday). 

Out Historic House Tours do not take place on event days so please call in advance to check. 

Access to the house is not level and there is no lift inside. We try to accommodate in every way possible, so please contact us in advance of visiting.

Historic House Tours Information for Day Visitors:

  • Open from 21st June to 31st August (excluding some private events – check Facebook for details)
  • Monday to Saturday: 11.00am to 3.45pm
  • Last Tour: 3.00 pm
  • All Historic House Tours are Guided
  • Please arrive on time for your booking.

Admission Charges (inclusive of VAT and price per person)

  • Adults – €14
  • Senior/Student – €12
  • Children – €5

We reserve the right to alter the opening dates and times without prior notice. Please always check the website before visiting us.

Please note we do not allow prams or pushchairs in the house and only allow small bags in the house.

Children ages 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult; during a school visit the teacher is in loco parentis. Accompanying adults are responsible for supervising the children in their care at all times.

We regret that dogs and pets are not allowed in Clonalis house, grounds or gardens.
